Classic installer for organizations (.exe)

When you need the .exe

Store access is disabled by GPO/AppLocker or unavailable in your network — the Store web installer cannot run there.

Install without Store connectivity: golden images, kiosks, isolated segments.

Roll out via Group Policy, Intune or SCCM/MECM and manage settings with the ADMX templates.

The classic installer runs with full system access, so during setup it can apply one-time system fixes that the Store sandbox does not allow:

Sets the WebClient (WebDAV) service to start automatically — drives mount right after reboot, no manual service tweaks.
Removes the Adobe Reader “check out” prompt when opening PDF files from SharePoint (a machine-level fix).
Applies the recommended system policies for stable WebDAV operation in one click — no registry editing.
Raises the WebDAV drive's file size limit from Windows' 50 MB default to 4 GB — large files (Photoshop, AutoCAD, and similar) open and save without errors.
